2024 Cinch Championships | 121st edition of the Queen’s Club Championships
ATP Tour 500 series

June 17th – June 23rd, 2024
Queen’s Club | London, United Kingdom
2023 Winner: Carlos Alcaraz

2024 Queen’s Club Championships

It’s the 121st edition of the ATP 500 grass court tournament and one of two ATP events this week as players prepare for Wimbledon, which begins on July 1.

We’ll analyze the top seeds boasting the best ATP tennis betting odds, potential underdogs lurking for an upset, and ultimately reveal our winning pick for the tournament.

Seven of the top-15 players in the world, including 2024 French Open winner Carlos Alcaraz, are at the event.

Let’s take a look at the top seeds and potential upset picks for the tournament.

2024 Cinch Championships Top 3

Carlos Alcaraz

Alcaraz is the top seed in the tournament and begins play on Tuesday against Francisco Cerundolo.

The 21-year-old Spaniard showed his resolve and perseverance at Roland Garros, overcoming 2-1 set deficits in the semi-finals and finals against Jannik Sinner and Alex Zverev, to win his third career grand slam.

He is already a champion at Wimbledon and is 16-2 in his career on grass.

Alex de Minaur

Alex de Minaur is having one of the best seasons of his career.

He reached the quarter-finals at the French Open and is coming off his second title of the season, winning the Libema Open in the Netherlands last week.

De Minaur beat Ugo Humbert and Sebastia Korda in the semifinals and finals, respectively, and begins the Cinch Championships against Lorenzo Musetti.

Grigor Dimitrov

Grigor Dimitrov also lost in the quarter-finals at Roland Garros and hasn’t played since.

He begins the Queen’s Club Championship against Adrian Mannarino, against whom he is 5-0 in his career.

Dimitrov has one title this season, winning in Brisbane, and was runner-up in Marseille and Miami.

He was 7-2 on grass courts last season.

Cinch Championships Potential Upsets

Lorenzo Musetti +460 vs. Alex de Minaur -847

De Minaur was runner-up at the Queen’s Club Championship last year, but there’s a real possibility he suffers an early exit this week.

He has played a lot of tennis as of late, reaching the quarters at Roland Garros and then playing Sunday in the final of the Libema Open.

It’s a quick turnaround for a match against Musetti, who is 9-4 on grass in the last two years and had a decent outing last week in Stuttgart, reaching the semi-finals.

Andy Murray +111 vs. Alexei Popyrin -148

Andy Murray is a four-time winner at the Queen’s Club and, while he hasn’t won since 2016, he is still in decent form and will be a tough out for Alexei Popyrin.

Murray is 6-12 this season, but he’s at his best on grass, where he has a 21-7 record over the last three years.

Popyrin has never played Murray in his career and is 12-12 on grass in the last three seasons.

Championships Finals Prediction

It’s hard to see anyone but Alcaraz winning the top half of the draw, while the bottom half of the draw is completely wide open.

Holger Rune, the seventh seed, is a player who has been on the cusp of greatness in the last two years but hasn’t really been able to break through.

He’s a good candidate to get some momentum with a win heading into Wimbledon, but he probably comes up short against Alcaraz in the final.

ATP Pick: Alcaraz def. Rune

The 2023 ATP Cinch Championships, also known as the Queen’s Club Championships, is an ATP Tour 500 series grass court event being played simultaneously with the Terra Wortmann Open in Germany. It’s the second-to-last grass-court event before Wimbledon, which begins on July 3.

World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz headlines the field for this year’s Cinch Championships. Holger Rune, Taylor Fritz, and Frances Tiafoe are among the other players in the draw.

Established in 1889, it is among the longest-running annual events on tour and serves as the lead-in to Wimbledon. It’s time to take a look at the upcoming Queen’s Club Championships tournament so you can bet against the ATP betting odds.

Alcaraz Making Queen’s Club Debut

Alcaraz, who faded in the final of the French Open against Novak Djokovic two weeks ago, is looking to turn his season around on the grass, although it isn’t his strongest surface. The 20-year-old Spaniard, making his debut at the Queen’s Club, is just 4-2 on grass in his career – he lost in the Round of 16 to Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon in 2022.

He begins his tournament against French qualifier Arthur Fils and is in arguably the tougher half of the draw alongside Tiafoe, Tommy Paul, Francisco Cerundolo, and Cameron Norrie. Alcaraz could reclaim the world’s No. 1 ranking if he wins the tournament.

Don’t Count out Andy Murray

Andy Murray might be past his prime, but he still has the passion and competitive spirit that has made him such a quality player for so long.

The 36-year-old is a five-time champion at Queen’s Club and is coming off of back-to-back grass court titles in ATP Challenger Tour events. He has three Challenger Tour wins this year and should be a tough out at Queen’s Club.

Must-Bet Cinch Championship Matches

Maxime Cressey (+150) vs. Holger Rune (-188)

Rune, the top seed in the bottom half of the draw, begins his tournament against American Maxime Cressey on Tuesday. A quarterfinalist at the French Open, the 20-year-old Dane is looking to build upon a successful season in which he has won one title and is 30-11 overall.

Rune and Cressey have split their two matches this season, both of which took place this year on a hard court. Rune is 3-1 overall against Cressey, but was 0-3 on grass last season. He’s too good of a player to keep losing on grass, so expect a first-round win for Rune.

Alex de Minaur (-138) vs. Andy Murray (+110)

Murray is the slight underdog in his first-round match against Alex de Minaur, but it’s a great opportunity for the Scot to surprise oddsmakers and advance through to the second round.

Including the Laver Cup, he’s 0-3 in his career against de Minaur, but two of those three matches have gone three sets. Moreover, de Minaur is in particularly poor form as of late, and Murray has been enjoying somewhat of a career resurgence.

de Minaur is just 17-12 this season and just 3-4 in his last seven matches. He’s a decent grass-court player, but Murray has had more career success on the surface, including a perfect 10-0 this season.

The Cinch Championships: ATP 500 Event or Queens Club Championship returns after its cancellation last year due to COVID-19. The tennis tournament will run from June 14-20, with 32 players in attendance, including some big names from the tennis world.

Here is our preview of the 2021 Queens Club Championship with all the information you’ll need to pick out the best bets and place down wagers on the ATP betting odds.

2021 Queens Club Championship

When: June 14-20
Where: Queen’s Club in London, England
Surface: Grass

2021 Queens Club Championship Prize Breakdown (Singles)

Names to Watch Out For

Jannik Sinner

In the current world no.17, Jannik Sinner enters the 2021 Queens Club Championship with a 241-13  record on the year. He has been placed in the bottom half of the draw alongside world no.26 Aslan Karatsev and world no.15 Denis Shapovalov.

The 19-year-old is expected to face Alexander Bublik in the second round and Cameron Norrie in the last eight. That’s not exactly a demanding schedule for the up-and-coming Italian; however, he has not appeared in many grass-court matches on the senior level (4-6) and should be adequately tested in England.

Denis Shapovalov

As the second-seeded player at the 2021 Queens Club Championship, Denis Shapovalov will have to overcome the defending champion Feliciano Lopez in the second round of the tournament, which won’t be an easy task for the world no. 26.

The 22-year-old holds a 15-12 record on the year and is 1-1 on the grass in 2021. His only two grass-court matches took place last week when he appeared at the Stuttgart Open. There Shapovalov beat his potential second-round opponent Lopez with 6-2, 6-7, 6-3, but lost against Marin Čilić with 5-7, 6-7.

Andy Murray

The former world no.1 and current no.123, Andy Murray travels to Queen’s Club hoping to emulate his success from 2016, when he last won this tournament.

Although the Brit is no longer as good as he used to be back then, he is still the winningest player at the Queens Club Championship with five titles to his name. He won those between 2009-2016, which includes back-to-back titles in 2015 and 2016.

He has since appeared in two iterations of the tournament (2017, 2018) and crashed out of R1 in both. In 2017, Murray lost to Jordan Thompson (6-7, 2-6) and Nicolas Kyrgios (6-2, 6-7, 5-7) in 2018.

Murray’s only notable singles achievement of the year came back in February when he made it to the finals of the Challenger Biella. Despite his lack of success in 2021, and for a good part of the last four years, Murray is still one of the best grass players in history with a 78.11% win rate across 146 matches (115-31)
